"Something Fishy"
I named it "Something Fishy", as it looks to me it might be some alien Betta / Fighting fish, finally drawing with pencils again too, feels good to pick it up after a break.
Drawn on Bristol Smooth paper (Canson) with pencils H2, H4, H7, F, H, 6B, 8B, 3B, 4B, others I might've used, Derwent Graphics pencils. Original drawn on an A3 sheet, scanned at 1200dpi, the "fish" is 20cm x 18cm on paper.
"Confused"
Ok I decided to just put it here, "Confused" my latest "what is it?" project, about 177 hours of drawing in intervals on an A4 sheet, it is small, a bit messy also since scanned 40 times without fixation, but it is ok, it is what I could do with it ! :)
"Dance In A Padded Cell"
I started drawing this one after finishing "Confused" and wrote a poem to go with it, make out of it what you want but the poem and title is what it looks like to me, two aliens dancing in a padded cell.
"Dreampiped"
This one, well I feel I overdid the shading and contrast, but not too unhappy with the result anyways!
Started off with 2B, 2H 4H (some fave starters), and went around with the range, should probably use more of the higher H ones, but used from 6B to 5-7H a lot of mid range and Bs. On Strathmore Bristol 500 Slate paper, size of drawing? hmm 23.3cm x 19.3cm boundingbox (9.17 x 7.59 inches).
"Sublimouse"
Another "work a bit on when feeling like it" project "completed". I spent a bit excessive time on shading and detailing on this one.. It turned out slightly dark but hey =) It is quite small on paper, about 19 cm (7.6") tall. I like drawing small, still would be interesting to draw bigger too at some point, just fear that I would end up spending "infinity" on OCD shading, maybe I should try to break out of that craving, sometimes!
Assorted pencils 9H to 9B by "oh now I'll use this" ordering, on "Strathmoore Bristol plate surface 500 Premium 100% cotton ultrasmooth" paper. Background cleaned and some contrast heightened in Photoshop.
"Mask Revisited"
I worked on this one for a long time, it's been just kept as a "work a bit on when feeling like it" project. I got a few of these.. well it is now "finished" as far as I can accept to put it online.. It is based on some affliction I've had towards making mask-like objects in the past, well, you could argue my "masks" look like they might fit Goofy o.O. The original spans about 50% of an A4 about the size of a CD cover, assorted Derwent Graphic pencils on Bristol smooth paper.
"Esoteric Allusions"
Finally, the sequel for the "Subconscious Perceptions", my main, or side project for over a year now, it took a while (!) Alternate title "Peekaboo", if you can find my eyes and head, its there, hidden in the details. Some of you mightve seen earlier versions and can tell from that, or the progress which is included in the full article as a 6-step scanned image sequence.
Pencil on A3 Bristol Slate paper, fixated a bit too many times, but turned out ok after some Photoshop retouch. I got the original prepared at 19k x 13k pixels for print, I think it does well as an A2 or even A1, some closeups are included too in the full article.
"Transcend"
Another "Piece with poem" I wrote in 2010. To me it is about changes in reality perception, evolving while alive (!) ..finding one's space. It is a bit "dark" perhaps, but hints of good intentions..
"SUBME"
Nocturnal project from just finished pencil drawing called "SUBME" ..subconscious me, submerged me, or something like that. Scanned and combined with an old pen drawing, and a couple WIP drawings, just had some fun at night making this.
It is drawn mainly with pencils on Strathmore Bristol Slate paper, just scanned/Photoshopped into this collage, the three other drawings used for texture/background are one drawn with pen, and a new coming (sometime) A4 pencil drawing, and the most detailed one is the yet to be released sequel for the "Subconscious Perceptions" in my gallery. I hope to complete it soon, been working on that off and on for well over a year now, covering every inch, most of it is hidden in this collage, just some hinted in the top/bottom, like a "teaser/trailer" o.O before the new A3 is finished, nearing..
"Ghoulmare"
I called this one "Ghoulmare", a combination of a Ghoul (ghūl - Arabic: literally demon) and a (Night)mare, in an attempt to connect eastern & western culture a bit on the idea of this creature:

Drawn on Strathmore Bristol Plate Surface paper with assorted Pencils B8-B6-B4-B3-H-H2-H3-H4-H8 I think, scanned before fixation for heightened level of detail.
"Wasaurus"
Scanned and fixed up, here is the recent "Webcamized Drawing II" as completed drawing, I called it "Wasaurus":
The original spans 9.5x13.8cm on A4 Bristol smooth paper, scanned before fixation for heightened level of detail, see this full article for embedded webcamized drawing @ Vimeo, and embedded SoundCloud track from this video.
"Portality"
Just finished this drawing and chose to name it "Portality", then saw there was a movie not released with an interesting description: "Portality is a meditation of a place neither inside nor outside created through passage and connection. The film utilizes the idea of mnemonic devices and the art of memory as the threshold into the imagination. It explores the deception of perspective, paranoia, and space. Through rudimentary distortion, reminiscent of childlike perception, the film initiates instinctive reactions of the disoriented in the face of the unknown." Now I want to see that movie..
Well, here is the drawing, just completed, scanned and fixed up, and this time no covering watermark/logo, the scan is higher res though, and some detailing gets lost, the original is 12x18cm on A4 Bristol smooth paper, with no fixation yet, which actually heightens the level of details. I need to find a better fixative spray, one that lets me draw subsequent layers without losing paper(coating) quality. I just got a new electric pencil-sharpener too, which gives even sharper pencils, very nice! ..so up next: even more micro control.
Webcamized Drawing II
So, I've made another video of an entire drawing, it is long but hopefully fun to watch :) The music is "Trippin" a tune I made back in 2006, never really "published", I got this one and more "unknown" tunes at http://soundcloud.com/intrinsicfx, and here is the finished drawing which I chose to call "Wasaurus". The music track is also embedded from SoundCloud in this full article, enjoy! :)
A Drawing In Progress
I've been thinking for a while to film with webcam while drawing, and wish I had done it sooner! One learns something about how one draws and thinks (sometimes subconsciously) while drawing, watching it after in variable speeds, easy to use f.ex. VideoLan VLC Player and turn up the playback speed, or slow down, whichever might yield interesting reflections. I will definitely upload more videos later too.
"Mess Of Bones"
An older drawing from I think around 2005? I see I just hadn't got the same perception of details I got now, back then, because on reducing psychomeds :S but maybe I will continue it and make it into something more some day, it's got potential..? =)
"Squidlicious"
An older drawing from around late 90s I believe, this one also drawn as most of my drawings are, on Bristol smooth paper, the very best for detail work with pencil since it has not got much structure in the sheet interfering with your drawing. That, of course might be a matter of preference, well you know mine now. I have also painted and drawn some with colors, something I hope to try again in the future, but most of my work has been with "colorless" pencils even though they also have tiny variations inherit in them, also in greys, but any finished drawings I've posted till now I've processed to be "colorized" by a tiny amount of blue and in one color, to give it more "punch" as the result looks more contrasty. So here's the drawing, more to come..
"Swirling"
So, I decided it was about time to post more @ the blog here. I've been stuck with some muscular issues from strain, still am, but why not get a few posts out in between anyhow? =) Here is another drawing from 2010; "Swirling". It's a style-experiment where I've tried to combine my AlienOrganics style, with elements of repetition; the oval plantlike shapes, and parts that might be somewhat "tribal" in nature, drawing inspiration from tribal art and tattoo art and making it into an Alien Organics unique combination project. While drawing on this also I have had intervals with tedious attention to small details in a small area, and sometimes looking more at the whole "thing", depending on mood and the ability to "see" where to go with it, it varies =)
"$uffo¢ation"
It took me 2 months into this drawing project, to discover the hidden $ymbol! And then it all made sense: On one hand I was regaining my drawing skills, but on the other hand I had an obsessive relationship to money, an unhealthy one where I experienced having little, and feeling the peer pressure of everyone around me wanting me to focus more on it. Read more in full article..
"Luck"
This drawing has taken a good amount of hours, sometimes drawing faster shapes, sometimes just getting into a "therapeutic" state of drawing tiny details. This year (and also last year) I really have learned to appreciate to have projects going, instead of having to finish one in a short time, for these drawings moods change and it can contribute to the result to get some breaks.
